Understanding the POC Hajj quota for 2027

Saudi Arabia has approved the inclusion of Pakistan Origin Card holders within Pakistan's national Hajj allocation for 2027. This is the first Hajj season in which POC holders are able to travel under Pakistan's official quota.

Seats reserved for POC holders

POC holders may apply through either the government scheme or an approved private operator such as Etimad Travel.

Participation remains subject to Saudi visa approval and the absence of any legal or administrative issue affecting the applicant.

Full terms and conditions will be published by Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs in line with Saudi requirements.

Who qualifies as a POC holder?

A Pakistan Origin Card is issued to people of Pakistani descent who once held Pakistani citizenship and later gave it up to take the nationality of another country. Until now, POC holders could not use Pakistan's Hajj quota because they no longer hold a Pakistani passport or NICOP.

How many POC holders can perform Hajj in 2027?

One percent of Pakistan's total quota has been reserved for POC holders, which amounts to 1,792 seats.

Can I apply through a private operator such as Etimad Travel?

Yes. POC holders can apply through either the government Hajj scheme or an approved private operator like Etimad Travel.

Is my place guaranteed once I apply?

Participation depends on quota availability and Saudi visa approval. Applying early improves your chances because POC seats are limited.
